Common Questions
Can I buy tickets offline and in cash?
Yes, you can get tickets to the Taj Complex from the physical centers located at the East and West gates.
Can I cancel or reschedule tickets?
ASI tickets are generally non-refundable, so choose your slot carefully.
Can I visit the Taj Mahal in the summer?
Although the best time to visit the Taj is from September to March, the monument is open throughout the year. Plan your visit around sunrise or at sunset, as Agra is notorious for its high temperatures.
When is the best time to see the Taj?
The earlier in the day, the better. The Taj Mahal sees a surge in crowds around 10:30 AM—visiting later means longer entrance queues and fewer photo opportunities.
What can I carry inside?
Large backpacks, food items, and sharp objects are strictly prohibited inside
Non-professional cameras are allowed, but drones and tripods require permission
How long does it take to see the Taj?
Exploring the entire complex takes 1.5 to 2 hours. During peak hours, you may find long queues at the entry gate and the main mausoleum, which can easily add another hour.
Are there restrooms inside?
Yes, there are multiple restrooms inside the complex that are well-maintained and easily identifiable through signage.
What should I wear while visiting?
Out of respect for local customs and the site's religious significance, dress modestly. In summer, light, loose-fitting clothing is best.
