Common Questions
Can I buy tickets in cash and in person?
Yes, the Agra Fort Ticket Centre is situated near the Amar Singh Gate, close to the Shivaji Memorial circle.
How long does it take to see the Fort?
About 2 - 2.5 hours, depending on the depth of your interest. There are numerous structures to see inside.
Is Agra Fort open on Fridays?
Yes. Unlike the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort is open 7 days a week.
Is Agra Fort less crowded than the Taj Mahal?
Relatively yes, but it’s still the second-most-visited ASI-protected monument in India. About one in three visitors to the Taj Mahal also visit Agra Fort.
Can I bring food and water?
Water bottles are allowed and highly recommended (though there are water stations inside). Food is not permitted inside the monument complex.
Are there lockers or cloakroom facilities?
Yes, a cloakroom is available near the ticket office. But it's best not to bring large bags or luggage. Carry only essentials: phone, wallet, and water bottle.
